After Retention days

Post by hilario » Tue Jun 08, 2010 10:09 am

After the images are deleted one OnePacs server, MODALITY is chanched to "OT".
Whay does this happen.
We would need to keep the original modality in order to get statistics, and so on.

Good point.

Technically speaking, "studies" in DICOM can have more than one modality in them. That is, they could have both CT and MR. In reality this rarely happens except with PET/CT I suppose. Each series has its own modality flag.

The worklist was showing the modality type of the first series in the study. When we flush the imaging data and put in the imaging data flushed notice, the modality of the notice is OT for other. So, this is what the modality for the study shows as subsequently.

However you raise a good point, we should preserve what the original modality was for purposes of searching for cases. I'm pretty sure this will be a simple matter of designating the modality flag for the imaging data flushed notice as MR or CT or whatever the study was originally.

We'll put this on the development timeline.
