What happend if you reload studies?

Post by hilario » Tue May 12, 2009 2:03 pm

As we are testing the system, at this moment we are loading studies in 2 ways:
- 1 : directly from Efilm or OnepacsDesktop to the gateway
- 2 : via DCMSND command
It will happend that sometime the same study appears on both systems then after been loaded via 1, it is also loaded via 2..
Does it overload the previous studi or just see it exist and doesn't load it?
What happend if it were some report/note or anything registered?
What are the drawback excepted the overload of the systems and networks.

Hilario,

If the Gateway receives an image that it has already received (same instance uid) it does an MD5 check on the image. If the MD5 matches then the new image is ignored. If the MD5 does not match then the new image replaces the existing image. The OnePacs central server has the same logic. It will not overwrite any existing reports or other study metadata.

Thanks,

Justin
