Over 5 GB....

Post by DataTrade » Thu Apr 12, 2012 7:46 pm

So, what happens when we use up the 5 gb of storage? Will the system no longer allow additional studies to be uploaded? Does it auto purge? If it does purge, does it just delete first on, first off? Please advise and thanks again for all your help!

Imaging data will be deleted from the system (oldest to newest) when the following conditions are met:

1) You are above your allotted free storage total (5GB).
2) Studies are older than the minimum retention time (7 days in your case).

It will only delete enough imaging data to get you below the limit. Oldest studies are deleted first.

Patient and study metadata, reports, notes, etc. are retained. A new series will be applied to the study indicating that the imaging data has been flushed.

Thanks for the reply. So, I will never be in a situation where I will not be able to send studies because of the free space is used up, correct?

That is correct. Just be aware that the oldest studies that are over 7 days old will be automatically deleted if you are over the limit, until you are under the limit again.

But you can continue to send new studies, yes.

Another question. Does that first in, first out go by study date or upload date? This is important because sometimes an older study is pushed so that doctors can see the image for surgery.

Thanks again!

It's based on the date the study was stored to OnePacs.
