Upcoming OnePACS Workstation Release - Scheduled for October 22nd

Post by maggiebrighton » Wed Oct 22, 2025 11:58 am

We’re excited to share what’s coming in the latest OnePACS workstation release!

Rolling out on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, this update brings meaningful enhancements designed to improve your workflow, boost performance, and deliver a more intuitive experience.

Here’s a look at some of the key updates:
Windows OnePACS Study Retriever Now Running on Java 17
To maintain system security and ensure alignment with the broader OnePACS ecosystem, the Windows OnePACS Study Retriever application now utilizes Java 17 (upgraded from Java 13).

How to Confirm Your Update:

Run java -version from:
C:\Program Files\OnePacs\jre64\bin
You should see Java 17 listed.
Study Retriever should start and run without errors.
This resolves known security flags in older Java versions.

Hanging Protocols – Smarter, Faster, More Flexible
We've made several improvements to Hanging Protocols to make configuring and navigating complex imaging studies smoother than ever:
  • Thinner Image Prioritization: Ensures the thinnest images display first—especially useful for Tomosynthesis series.
“OR” Matching Logic: Streamlines setup by supporting flexible multi-choice conditions (e.g. “R MLO”, “L MLO”, “R CC”).
New Scrolling Shortcuts: Use keyboard shortcuts to scroll through primary only or prior only series in comparison stages.

These upgrades simplify protocol setup and improve visibility in your viewer.
3-Plane Volume Measurement Now on Windows Workstation
Previously Mac-only, our 3-plane volume measurement tool is now available in the Windows version of OnePACS Workstation!

You can now:
Outline anatomy in three orthogonal planes.
Automatically calculate volume.
Seamlessly integrate with your current measurement workflows.

Precision meets cross-platform consistency!

Fixes & Performance Enhancements
We’ve tackled several client-reported issues and performance improvements:
  • Report Editor Shortcuts
Hanging Protocols Stage Reset + Configuration
Better workstation performance during long sessions.
Corrected spine labeling when multiple series are active.
Fixed thumbnail mismatches when opening new studies.
More reliable image loading, even during initial access.
The summary series now displays correctly, even before the download completes.
Improved document readability in OPSR for specific types (e.g., 9999 worksheet).
Fixed download issues for certain REG-type studies and viewer scenarios.
Close Study API now correctly populates usernames for Web Login users.

These fixes are part of our ongoing mission to make OnePACS faster, more stable, and easier to use.
