Minimum Java Version Requirement Change

Post by onepacs » Tue Jul 15, 2014 3:19 pm

Greetings OnePacs users,

As many of you know, some optional components of the OnePacs Web Application require installation of the Java Runtime Environment. Currently the minimum supported version is version 6 update 10 (1.6.0_10). Due to security considerations, new security features built into Java, and incompatibilities of those new features with older versions, OnePacs will no longer support Java versions older than version 7 update 45 (1.7.0_45) beginning on August 4th, 2014. Please note that this only affects users that haven't updated Java in the past 9 months and also use any of the following features:
  • Java Web Viewer
  • Java Study Uploader
  • Java Dictation Workflow
Our recommendation is that OnePacs users install the latest version of the 1.7 release (currently version 7 update 65) and keep up to date with the scheduled quarterly critical patch updates.

Users running Java versions below 7 update 45 after August 4th, 2014 will be prompted to upgrade to the latest version when attempting to access features that require Java.

Please see http://java.com to see what version is installed and upgrade if necessary.
