Release Notes - OnePacs version 10.5

OnePacs is pleased to announce that version 10.5 of the OnePacs web application will be released on 09/25/2014. This is a substantial release containing many new features, enhancements to existing features, and dozens of performance improvements. The upgrade will happen automatically.

Security
  • Support for more complex passwords
  • Improved password reset interface
  • New option to force a user to change password when reset by an admin
  • Various other security improvements
Worklist
  • Worklist dropdown filters for assigned, unassigned, assigned to me, and facility state have been added.
  • The “Assigned” study status has been renamed to "Locked"
  • A reset button has been added to the worklist search panel
  • Fields on the worklist search panel are visually highlighted when they are active in filtering results
  • Textual and ad hoc worklist filters can be saved as part of worklist search criteria. (This also applies to case notifications and auto-assignment rules)
  • Display a large preview image when hovering over thumbnails on the series preview panel
  • Additional info about series send/receive times on the study preview panel
  • The worklist can now be searched for cases “older than” a certain time range.
  • The user access highlighting feature has been expanded to support selection of multiple users
  • Various other security improvements
Flags & Notes
  • Visual indication of "unread" study notes on the worklist and in the report edit window
  • Added a third flag color (green)
  • Implemented standard notes for commonly repeated study notes. These standard notes can also be associated with flag state and visibility
  • Various other improvements
User Management
  • Paging controls have been added to the user search page
  • Added the ability to filter users by user type on search page
  • Three new user types were added: Radiologist, Transcriptionist, and Radiology Assistant. Existing users will be automatically updated to the new user types.
New Workflow Features
  • Fuller support for preliminary versus final read types
  • Radiologists with “View & Report” privileges can now be restricted to completing reports by read type (i.e. final or preliminary)
  • Added the ability to search for cases with preliminary reports requiring a final report
  • Miscellaneous other improvements
Workflow Improvements
  • Transcription
    • Automatically assign studies back to the radiologist after a transcriptionist transcribes dictation
    • A new permission to allow unfinalized transcriptions to be viewed as drafts was added
  • Confirmation
    • Added a configuration option to discourage or prevent technologists from entering study notes in lieu of confirmation.
    • Added a configuration option to require technologists to enter clinical history during the confirmation process
Radiology Assistant
Radiology assistant is a new user type in OnePacs 10.5 designed for users whose primary function is to assist in radiology workflow. Users of this type can enter results reporting information, manage study status, modify patient/study records, draft reports, and manage facility users (or any subset of these permissions). Users previously configured as "General" users with the results reporting permission but not the ability to enter reports will be automatically migrated to this new user type.
  • A new permission for adding case alerts was added that may be granted to Radiologists, Radiology Assistants, and Admins
  • Added configurable facility-specific reminder text that may be displayed on the worklist (omitted for facility users)
  • Added the ability to create empty studies (study records without images, for the purpose of film studies or other non-DICOM / analog imaging exams)
  • Added the ability to move a study to a different facility via the web interface
  • Added a new results reporting option of "discussed with"
  • Modified the "Manage incoming documents" permission to allow deletion of incoming documents
Productivity
  • Added an option to automatically open the next case on the worklist upon completion of a report. This feature allow configuration of whether stat cases are prioritized and whether re-interpretation requests qualify.
  • An auto-study-assignment feature has been developed to allow automatic assignment of incoming studies to a radiologist based on a worklist filter, configured radiologists, and case load.
  • Turn-around-time settings may now be configured to calculate based on the time at which the study was confirmed rather than when the images were received. This is configurable per facility.
  • A default study type can now be associated with a facility.
  • Added an option to automatically populate standard reporting text upon selection of study type.
  • Improvements to warnings regarding reporting on disregarded studies and studies assigned to other users.

Case Access Links
  • Added an option to include case notes in email message
  • Enhanced security options for case access links
Miscellaneous
  • Patient age was added as a column for data export
  • The ability to save and restore Java viewer settings has been added
  • Added the ability to change gender in onepacs
  • Added filter functions for timeofday and dayofweek
  • Added the ability to filter based on the user that uploaded a study
  • Ability to map studies to facility based on DICOM institution name
  • Miscellaneous other enhancements and improvements
