Lost Connection Uploading Dictation

Hi

One of our radiologists is having trouble for uploading the dictation when using unstable Wi-Fi connections (something very common while travelling).

When the connection fails during the upload, the message “Network is unreachable” appears and even when the connection is back, it’s not possible to continue the upload. The Upload button becomes grey and disabled, so all the dictation is lost and they have do start all over again.

As a workaround, we are suggesting the dictation is recorded on an Iphone, sent by email and then uploaded by us manually to OnePacs.

Some questions:
1) Would be possible to resume the upload when the connection is lost, or at least save the audio to the local machine so they don’t lose their dictations?
2) As we are receiving the audio files by email, would be possible to access them at the document panel (incoming documents)? It would be much easier to drag the dictation file to the patient’s study files.

Thanks
Paulo

Paulo,
Thanks for your note. It is an interesting issue you describe. Unfortunately at the moment there is no resume capability for dictations, so if the internet connection is unstable this could be an issue of concern.
Perhaps as a workaround your users could record audio files and attach them to the study as a study file directly? This would be easier than first emailing the file, then attempting to attach them to the cases from email. The document panel currently only processes PDF files.
We will make a note of the issue of dictations being lost if the internet connection is unstable and look into how to address that.
Regards
John
