Please note: As we continue final testing, the release date and included features may be subject to change.

We’re reaching out to share an important update to the OnePACS Mac viewing experience starting on February 11, 2026, including what it means for your team and how to prepare.

What’s Changing
OnePACS is transitioning away from the OPX Mac Viewer and moving to an integrated solution with OsiriX and Aycan, purpose-built viewers for macOS. Support for OPX on Mac will end July 1, 2026.

Why This Matters
Recent macOS updates have impacted OPX Mac Viewer compatibility, causing workflow disruptions. To ensure long-term stability, OnePACS is moving to a best-in-class macOS solution.

This change delivers clear value to your organization:
  • Reliable Mac compatibility: Consistent reading on macOS without disruption from OS updates
  • Advanced imaging & compliance: OsiriX and Aycan are FDA/CE-certified macOS viewers supporting advanced 2D/3D/4D imaging
  • Lower cost, higher productivity: Faster innovation and continued focus on OnePACS' core strengths - workflow, orchestration, and automation

What You’ll Need to Do
To prepare for this transition, Mac-based radiologists and IT teams will need to:
  • Install the current OnePACS Desktop application, which includes the OnePACS Study Retriever
  • As of February 11, 2026, the OnePACS Study Retriever will be available as a standalone download
  • Subscribe to and install OsiriX or Aycan
  • Configure the viewer integration to launch studies directly from OnePACS

Resources
We recommend beginning preparation early to ensure a smooth transition for your team.
